Villas Manos are ideal for your summer holidays, if you want to combine the comfortability and the luxury of a villa with the calmness-peacefulness of nature and the splendid views to the sea.
Each villa is constructed under high standards of architecture and can serve up to 4 people. Both villas are staggered so that they retain maximum privacy as neither of them overlooks the other. To the side of the villas is the lovely common pool area with a stone-flagged terrace around it.
The two recently-built lovely villas are perched high up in the hamlet of Megala Horafia, with stunning views out over Souda Bay and the whole of the Akrotiri Peninsula to the front, and no less than three mountain ranges in the distance.
Megala Horafia has a couple of simple tavernas and a mini-market, whereas a wider collection can be found in Souda (6Km) and the lovely harbour town of Chania ( 9 km ). The sandy bay of Igadene beach, with its Turkish fortress, is just 3.5 km away, and the Rethimnon is also within driving distance of the Villas, reached by the national road along the coast. Finally, the ancient town Aptera is located just 20 minutes walk away.

VIEWS

Each villa is constructed under high standards of architecture. The use of stone, that is obvious at the facades and the staircase, makes a strong impression to the visitor of each villa.
The combination of stone, wood and flourishing flowers creates a lovely and harmonic environment to live in.

APTERA
Aptera is located just 20 minutes walk away from the villas. Aptera was one of the most important city-states of Crete . The first epigraphic occurence of its name is found in the Linear B tablets (14th - 13th century B.C.). The history of the city continued through the centuries until the 7th century A.D., when an earthquake destroyed it. Its ideal location was determinative for its development in an important commercial and political center. By harbors, Kissamos and Minoa, located on both sides of Suda Bay , Aptera was able to control the naval activity.
The era of the city's greates peak was the early hellenistic period (late 4th - 3th century B.C.). At that time Aptera experiences an economical and political floruit, begins to mint its own coins and develops diplomatic relations with important centers of the hellenistic world. During the period of roman occupation it appears to have developed a more rural character. Habitation at the site continued into the early byzantine period. After the 7th century destruction the monastery of Saint John the Theologan was established in the central area of the city, firstly mentioned in 12th century texts, and it officiated until 1964.
